sustainability statement

I am very conscious of the impact I have, both in my business and life, on our lovely planet and, whilst I’m most definitely not perfect, I try and take all the steps I can, no matter how small, to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

made in the uk

Everything you see on my website is designed and printed in-house or with hand picked suppliers with good sustainability credentials, on FSC approved card/ sustainable materials in the UK. No unnecessary plane trips and wherever possible, I will combine outsourced print orders or ship directly to wholesale stockists from the printers to reduce the carbon footprint.

packaging

All of my cards and prints are packaged in biodegradable cornstarch. They are 100% plastic free and definitely a step in the right direction. However, after a bit of research I discovered that whilst the sleeves I use are compostable, sadly they’re unsuitable for home composting as the temperatures in the UK don’t get hot enough for them to fully break down, and they need to be industrially composted. They can often be put in with your garden waste that is collected for composting, but you will need to check with your local Council first. I am on the lookout for a suitable alternative, and will more than happily send your order with ‘naked’ with no cornstarch packaging if you prefer, just add a note to your order!

no plastic

I use kraft cardboard boxes to ship orders in, and use recycled paper/tissue paper to pack around your items to keep them safe which can all be recycled. If you receive an order from me with bubble wrap included, rest assured that it has been recycled and re-used from orders that I’ve received, and it would be so lovely if you are able to do the same! I have also switched to plastic-free tape and use recycled card postcards or print seconds as little thank-you’s, so all my waste is minimised.

one tree planted

For every order placed! I’m working with Ecologi to make a positive impact on climate change and for every single order I receive, a tree will be planted in reforestation projects around the world, all thanks to you! You can have a look at the number of trees Wildwood Paper has planted and whereabouts they are here:

I am constantly improving and evolving the way Wildwood Paper runs to be as eco-conscious as it can be, if you have any feedback on ways I can improve I would love to hear from you! Get in touch here.
