Kauf Studio X Wildwood Paper collection

In case you missed it, I’m formally introducing my absolute favourite project of 2020: The most luxurious printed PJ’s and robes from fellow small business in Sheffield, Kauf Studio.

Two jungle print designs on luxury PJ and robe sets, with all over patterns and hidden illustrated moths and insects.

jungle leaf design

When Charlotte approached me to design not one but TWO botanical prints for her new luxury loungewear collection, I absolutely jumped at the chance. We worked together on a couple of inspiration mood boards and then I had total free reign to design what I wanted, which was amazing!

We decided to design two prints that felt cohesive together as part of the collection, but that were different enough that you could shop from individually or mix and match, whatever you fancied. I knew I wanted two very different background colours from each print, but used the same colour palette in each to bring the designs together as a pair; one with a deep forest green background and jungle leaves, and the other a nude background with a slightly looser print. And each design has little insects and moths hidden throughout to add a bit of interest - see if you can spot them!

and repeat print

The best part of this project was that I got to go back to my print design roots and create prints in repeat. When I studied at Central Saint Martins, I specialised in screen printing and we would be working with repeats for fabric all the time, but it’s not something that I get to do that often for Wildwood Paper - as most of my work is printed onto paper and in smaller scale these days - so it was so rewarding to see my designs repeated on long lengths of fabric again, ready for the very talented Kauf Studio to work her magic. I enjoyed the process so much that it inspired some ideas for new products for my shop… watch this space!

women-owned small businesses collaborate

I am so pleased with how the botanical designs turned out, and I’m full of admiration for the quality of the finished product and seeing the collections come to life! Plus for the shoot we got to combine even more Sheffield women in business with Tash Lyons on hair and make up, Ellie Grace Photography and the most beautiful model to create some incredible images. Oh, and even better than the best bit is that Charlotte kindly gifted me a beautiful green robe and I feel like a queen whenever I wear it, I highly recommend!
